Hi Globies
It seems I will land late (10 pm) in Lisbon. Could you advice inexpensive hostel close to the airport or to the airport bus stop in the city? Just one night before the next flight. Do they -buses- still operate after 10 pm?
Thanks
Wojtek

Hi Wojtek,

There are not many buses at the airport at 10 pm. Even the shuttle bus that connects the airport to the city centre is not working at 10 pm. There are only the so-called night buses.

The best is to go to Rotunda do Relógio (which is the roundabout after leaving the airport by the departures area) and take bus 204 to Gare do Oriente (end of the line) and walk from there to the hostel (1,3 km to the North of Gare do Oriente - link to the hostel below). Or you can try to take a bus from Gare do Oriente to Moscavide (like bus nr. 210 to Prior Velho).

Another bus from airport to Gare do Oriente is bus nr. 208 to Gare do Oriente (this one leaves from the airport directly).

I do not know at what time these buses should be at the airport. On the website, they only show the time on which each line starts. All of them should be working after 10 pm. Here is the link to the website of Carris (which is also in English) - http://www.carris.pt/en/home/

Subway line from Gare do Oriente is going to the city center.

Regarding hostels, I really don't know much hostels in Lisbon. So what I did was a search on google and I found one hostel in Parque das Nações, which is not that far from the airport, so it may be good. I do not know if it is good or not (clean, etc.). Here is the link to the hostel in Parque das Nações: http://www.hostelworld.com/hosteldetails.php/Lisbon-Parque-das-Nacoes-Youth-Hostel/Lisbon/29180/directions

There are other hostels, but in the city centre and to get there at 10 pm it may be difficult. Either you take a bus (but after 10 pm they are not that many and you may have to wait a little for the bus) or you take a taxi (and that may be expensive).

Hope it helps
Rafał
