Macedonia - worth a side trip?

But there is also unknown (for me) Republic of Macedonia close by. Is it worth a side trip? I heard about legendary beauty of Lake Ohrid - has anybody been there? I have been there and now I can recommend - particuliary Ohrid Lake area - see my photo album "Ohrid" and report from the capital city - Skopje!
