Hi

I'm thinking about taking a trip to Milan this spring. What kind of weather can I expect in the middle of June? How many days can I spend in the city without getting "bored"? What are the major sights in the city?

I understand that it is a fairly short trip to Parma. I would like to check out how the Parmesan cheese and the ham are made. Are there organized trips from Milan or can you just take a train to Parma and take it from there?

Would it be advisable to combine Milan with e.g Venize?

Regards

I'm sorry it seems no one responed to your post in time... Did you go? What was your experience?

Although Italy is a big favorite of mine, Milan is not at the top of my list... I think the Duomo is not to be missed, and I enjoyed visiting "Leonardo's Horse" and seeing all the smartly dressed people on the streets, (and would have liked to see La Scala if it was open) but otherwise... well, perhaps I let the unpleasantness of the crowded and unwelcoming HI hostel there color my view, along with the scary and crime-ridden train station. My advice would have been one or two days in Milan, then enjoy something lovely and close by, like Verona.

Hello Gard

I agree with Liz - there is not much to see in Milan and in one day you can visit all highlights.

1. Cathedral

2. Church Santa Maria delle Grazie

with famous da Vinci mural "Last supper"

3. Sforza castle

Sorry, I do not know Parma

Enjoy!
