Hi Globies!

It looks that I will be forced to make a stopover in Rome. Could you recommend inexpensive but clean hostel located not far from the Termini station?

Thanks

Wojtek

Wojciech, I was in Rome last month. I can tell you that there are two Youth Hostels, just in front of the Rome railway station, at 50 metres distance, on a floor, but they charge about 25 euro per night in a dormitory and are often full.

Better take you sleeping bag and go to the Vatican. There, in Piazza San Pietro, under the columns, you can sleep and have free dinner (sandwiches, hot tea, fruits… and if you keep the fruits for the morning, then you will also have free breakfast!) that will be served by several organizations helping the indigent people. There are always Polish pilgrims sleeping there on the floor with whom you can socialize in your mother language.

Good nights in Vatican!

Thanks Jorge for your advice... It is raining and I do not carry my sleeping bag with me. I decided to stay in the Freedom Traveller Hostel - via Gaeta 25 - 300 m from the Termini station. They charge 20 euro but the breakfast is included and in the winter at 6 pm in the restaurant next door they serve to the guests free pasta and a glas of wine.

Good night...

Wojtek

Ciao Bella Hostel is really cheap, it would only cost you around 12 euro.but the accommodation is really good. i've heard and seen good reviews about that hostel.
