Most people place Helsinki below Copenhagen and Stokholm in their lists of Scandinavian capitals. It's very doubtful whether the 'Daughter of the Baltic' deserves this.
If you walk far in almost any direction, you are likely to reach the sea fairly quickly and most parts of the coast are staggeringly beautiful. Perhaps the area beyond the wonderful embassy area snd that near the Sibelius memorial command the fondest memories. Whist on the subject of the sea, the fortress island of Suomenlinna [ferry trip covered by the day transport card] is well worth a visit and there is great temptation to take a rapid crossing to Estonia's Tallinn for a day or overnight trip.
Where else does the Tourist Office issue books of sights from an ordinary service tram?
