Expedition mit Grönlandhunden
Seit wir im Sommer 2002 in Grönland waren, haben wir davon geträumt, einmal mit einem Hundeschlitten über das Eis zu fahren. Doch in Grönland ist es sehr kostspielig und aufwändig, eine solche Tour zu organisieren. Deshalb haben wir uns zunächst für die etwas preiswertere Variante in Finnland entschieden, aber Grönlandhunde sollten es sein!
Wir sind mit Finnair von Düsseldorf über Helsinki nach Kajaani geflogen. Wegen der recht hohen Kosten für diesen Linienflug haben wir auch in Betracht gezogen, mit dem Wohnmobil nach Kuhmo zu fahren. Nach genauerer Kalkulation hat sich das jedoch nicht gelohnt. Die Kosten für Diesel und Fähre wären am Ende ebenso hoch gewesen und wir hätten statt zwei, dann mindestens vier Tage Reisezeit einplanen müssen.

We were at a dog-sledding expedition in March 2007 together with Jussi as guide.
