Travel guide to Fraisse-sur-Agout

Hérault Departement has so many well-known places and so many picturesque villages that few have even heard of Fraisse-sur-Agout unless they have actually been there. To find its location, you would do best to put its name into the search box of the Michelin map - it's hard to describe verbally.
Why bother? because it's near to St Pons de Thomieres, the capital of the Haut Languedoc Regional Park and, being considerably higher, is much fresher.

It has an excellent camp site, 'Le Pioch' (see travel tip) and a couple of plaes, one a Logis de France, if you prefer to be indoors. The village itself is charming and peaceful without seeming dull. It is a superb centre for reaching Le Sidobre, Les Monts de Lacaune and Les Monts d'Épinousse, in all of which the walks are of all standards, inlcuding short walks from road to hilltop that can be managed by most who have limited energy.
