An old mill way back in the year 803 gave Mulhouse (then "Mühlhausen") its name. Near the borders with Germany and Switzerland, every automobile enthusiast should visit the city when in Freiburg or Basel, both under a hour's drive away - visit both the National Automobile Museum and the Peugeot/Citroen Car Plant (has guided tours).
