First view of Mt Everest!'s by frenchfrog

Tingri - China, Tibet This my first view of Mt Everest. It was amazing! We were approaching Ronbuk Monastery. We are at 4980 metres high.

Or did you just feel pure emotion? frenchfrog - Mar, 18 2009 12:03pm Yest, it was very strange as from the Nepalese side you have to trek for 2 weeks to get there, from the Chinese side the road stops only about 8Km from the foot of Mt Everest. Everest looks much nicer from the Chinese side than the Nepalese side! (see my other photos of Nepal). It was very weird to to think that you are staring at the roof of the world! I did not want to leave I could have stay there for days just looking at this magnificient senery at this beauty!
