Libreville, the capital of Gabon, is a relatively modern city with incredibly pleasant beaches. The oceanfront boasts a number of modern high rise buildings, skyline of which is best appreciated from across the estuary at Pointe-Denis (accessible from Port-Mole by a private boat). It is an expensive city, much more expensive than Paris, London, Berlin, New York in terms of nightlife, shopping and local art. The city's best qualities is the nightlife and the beachlife. And the astonishing students population! Very friendly, approachable and talkative. Although French language is a must in the city! Almost no-one speaks English. [edit text]  [editors]
