Kartong is a very small settlement on the border with Casamance in the southern end of the Atlantic coast. The main quality of the place is its beach. It is large and unspoiled. It is far far far from the tourism industry and is often deserted. Only local youths use it to play football there. The local fishermen community built a few shacks on the beach, but as the beach is very wide, this does not impact its cleanliness. There is very sporadic public transport to Kartong, so best way to get there is by hiring a car, or by bicycle (it will be a long-ish ride from Serekunda). [edit text] [editors]
