One of the questions I get a lot from people that are going to a new place is: "How big is it compared to....". This is often hard to answer but now there is finally a website that can give that answer. Check out http://mapfrappe.com/ On the top map you outline something that you are familiar with...and on the lower map you zoom in on your potential destination to see how it compares. In the attachment I have compared Central Park in NYC with the city center of Rome: http://gardkarlsen.com/misc/rome_vs_central_park.JPG . I think this will be a great resource if you want to get an understanding when it comes to a new place.
