Traveling to Paris early november. !st time there, need to know what area to stay in. We enjoy a party and really don't want to take bus or taxi everywhere. Booked the Paris Hilton, but not sure if this is the right area.

Was looking at the Cluney Square in the latin quarter, sounds like a wild area, that's what we want. But want to feel safe walking the streets.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Florida Bob

The Hilton Paris is located in the Eiffel Tower area. The place is filled with tourists in the daytime, but rather calm at nightime. Should you want to get to more wild places, you will have to get there by taxi, bus or subway.

As you show a preference for wild or lively places, Cluny Square seems to be a better choice. It is located in the Quartier Latin, which is a very lively place where the students gather at night since the Middle-Ages. A bit noisy, but very lively.

As regards security, Paris is not a rough area, but one needs to mind pick-pockets.

Have a nice stay in Paris.

My advice is this hotel;

It is a ten minute walk to the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe is only 10 minutes away by subway (the entrance to which is located close to the hotel). A short walk (10 min) north will take you to the Hotel Invalides, where you can take a train to Notre Dame. I found it to be in a great location.

Most of the rooms have balconies and there are plenty of restaurants nearby. They also have internet access, breakfast (6 Euros I believe), and it only cost me 50 Euros for a room with 2 beds in March, so I think you could get a similar rate in November.
