Hi there

I'm a UK citizen, currently living in Canada for past 2 years but leaving in December to return to the UK. Between CA and the UK, planning on a three month RTW trip.

Problem is, to get insurance from the UK we (wife and i) need to have been resident in UK for six months before taking out policy. No go there then.

SO, looks like we need to get insurance from Canada.

Problem here is, we won't be coming back (:D) but most policies seem to require provincial coverage, which we won't have at that stage coz we're leaving. Hmmm.

I guess I need to speak to some specialist insurance companies, but thought i'd ask here for peoples insight too...

Thanks

Mike

Hi mikew,

I am using globelink travel insurance and after I saw your post I have contacted them and here what they told me:

We have a connection with an American insurer who will cover them for

Medical Expenses during their journey and they should visit

http://www.globelink.uk.com/travel-medical-insurance-for-us-residents.html

(Ignore reference to US residents) and then select Liaison International.

This is a policy offering cover for people of any nationality travelling

from anywhere to anywhere and there is no restriction on the period of

cover. We hope this helps.

Well, I believe this info might be useful to you!

And have a safe and happy trip!
