Leipzig is the bibliographical centre of Europe and site of a lot of exhibitions and historical heros. Its certainly someday (2012/2016?) to host the Summer Olympics. The centre presents endless cultural highlights and also great nightlife; bars, discos, restaurants or opera. Auerbachs-Keller or the the new(old) Rathauskeller are special to dine. After, the dungeon-like but romantic and adventurous atmosphere below the university skyscraper shows its history and potential, that and more are unique.
If you like coffeshops, alternative flair and student live you should also go to Südvorstadt or Connewitz in the south. You can reach it by the tram number 11 from the mainstation. Connewitz is more alternative and starts at the station connewitzer kreuz. From there you can also easiely reach the beautiful townforest called Auenwald. Also from there, Plagwitz through the forest beside the river Pleise is more industrial but you can find student culture too. [edit text][editors]
