Winneba Beach
Winneba, a large fishing village near Accra, the country capital, is famous for its fishing market and the animated scenes of the fishing beach. The basic architecture of the village adds to the overall ambiance of the place. The population of the village is exceptionally friendly. The fishermen welcome visitors to look at their work and love to be photographed as they mend their nets, repair the equipment and pain their boats. Kids jumping from the remains of the concrete pier and the rocks at the main harbour seem to be risking their lives, but apparently they know what they are doing. Traffic can be very challenging there and the village becomes extremely crowded, but this is what makes it worth a quick visit. [edit text]  [editors]
