Temple of Sounion

Sounion is at the southernmost tip of Attica, and is famous tourist site for any day-trip. The welcoming sight is the superb view of the stunning temple of Poseidon which lies on the highest point of Cape Sounion. The temple was built around 440BC. If you look at one of the columns, you can see Lord Byron’s name carved into the stone.

Complete your trip by having lunch at one of the quaint cafés and restaurants, whilst soaking in the view. [edit text] [editors]
