Kowloon was considered the poor relative to Hong Kong Island and was home to the international airports until 1997. At that time. the buildings were determined to be relatively short for the modern jets. Over the last few years major development has been happening to beautify and modernize the area, including the main Public Pier, which is a lovely place to go for an evening stroll and watch the neon lights of Hong Kong Island. They have also created an Avenue of the Stars, which pays tribute to the local film heroes like Jackie Chan.
The shopping is excellent there, from designer shops to really inexpensive markets. A couple of them are: Nathan Road and Temple Street night market; it’s a great place to find a fake designer.
Tsim Sha Tsui is the main area and with great the transportation links it’s easy to get everywhere. [edit text][editors]
