In an agriculturall society that flourished here thousands of years ago there was sufficient prosperity to erect this monument now believed to be a portal tomb. The meaning of the name is "hollow of the mill stone"

It is man's nature to pile things on top of each other, we start that in sand-pits when we are toddlers. I can imagine what effort this took, assume the hieght is about four to six feet and that cap weighs a ton? great image [4.3]

Very accurate Rudi, clearly you are a mathematician and engineer of no mean standing. The official estimate is 1.5 tonnes.
I got out of bed at 7.a.m. to photograph this on a frosty morning.

.... it is one of those structures where a second picture should have a person in it (or plastic rabbit / cola tin / matchbox) as a scale. I travel mainly to discover such structures of early man, nature and geology. Very interesting, thanks!
