Carlow is a small County in South East Ireland with avery vibrant town named Carlow on the River Barrow.
One hour from Dublin on the N9 road, it is also served by frequent rail services.
It is a business centre with a large Institute of Technology and consequent numerous students reside here during Autumn, Winter and Spring.
There are good hotels, Seven Oaks, Dolmen and Talbot. Good B&B locations and a good hostel.
Historically it has connections with William Marshall Earl of Pembroke who is buried in Westminister Abbey.
The largest dolmen capstone in Europe is on Browneshill two miles from the centre of town. Killeshin with its exquisite romanesque doorway is three miles to the West.
