Kyonan is famous (in Japan at least), for Nokogiri-yama, which translated means Saw Mountain. The mountain has been carved for centuries for building materials, and many of its cliffs are sheer drops. That's not really why Nokogiri-yama is famous though. It has one of the largest sculptures of Buddha anywhere in the world, carved right into the mountain. Today, the entire mountain is a home to a park and buddhist temple. [edit text][editors]
