Travel guide to Malindi
Long empty beaches of white sand, turquoise water and dark blue skies are becoming a rarety around the world. Malindi is still relatively untouched by the international tourist market and, as such, is one of the only remaining coastal towns of East Africa that is still as it was 20 years ago. There is, however, a lot of development taking place and a lot of international hotel chains are discovering this jewel. For this reason, if you want to see an African coastal town that is original you should go to Malindi as soon as possible. I think the town will be completely ruined in a few years. It still has an original town centre dating from the voyage of Vasco da Gama, and has various religiousdistricts. There isn't a better time to check out Malindi than now, especially since fligths to the town are the cheapest they have ever been, if you pick the low season( i.e. not during the Northern Hemisphere's major holidays).
