Cheju is also known as Jeju, is an island located at the southern tip of S.Korea. This is a self-governing province that came into existence thousands of years ago when lava spewed from a volcano and surfaced above the waters.
Koreans call Cheju - the 'Island of Gods' and it is a popular honeymoon destination and location shooting of many Korean drama serials.
What's particularly interesting that this island has a UNESCO world heritage site in the form of Sunrise Peak aka Seongsang Ilchullbong. If you are prepared to hike, you will be treated to awesome view. Another hike to do is the climb at Mt Halla, located at the centre of the island.
Other popular tourist sites include the underwater world ie taking a yellow submarine ride, and visiting the teddy bear museum. At night, do not forget to check out 'the mysterious road'.
