Travel guide to Gyeongju

The outer walls of the Bulguksa Temple

The best way to get to Gyeongju by taking the KTX (Korea’s high speed trains) just over 2 hours from Seoul Station. Once into Gyeongyu you will need to take a bus to your desired locations. There is a tourist office inside the station which will be able to provide maps etc and then it’s just about enjoying the day, but would suggest staying a little longer.
Gyeongju is known as the museum without walls as it is a great place to visit to see some Unesco World Heritage Sites and can be visited en route from or to Busan on the coast. There many temples, pagodas, tombs dotted around but some are spread out.

Places of interest include which are outside of the city:
Gyeongju and Gyeongju National Park, Bulguksa Temple (look out for the two pagoda - Dabotap and Seokgatap) and Seokguram Grotto. These sites are fairly far outside of the city but there are regular buses which serve these locations. [edit text] [editors]
