Capital By The River 
Its a relatively small city compare to any town in Thailand. You would be able to cover the main city attraction by renting a bicycle. I did the city in about 7 hours before departing to Luang Phrabang. more

It can hardly be called a city, but it's got charm 
Vientiane is just a small, quiet town with chickens walking in the street, some motos and the occasional car (most of which seem to belong to foreign relief workers). It's quiet, relaxing and charming. more
