Ambodifotatra is the capital of Ile Sainte Marie, or Nosy Boraha, a small island off the east coast of Madagascar. The island is the closest thing to a rustic paradise. The capital is delightfully small. Its quality are small harbour in the centre, which offers a great opportunity to relax. There a couple of eateries around there. The other sight is the oldest church in Madagascar, an irony since at that times, the island was dominated by pirates, whose cemetery is a frequently visited spot near the town. Ambodifotatra does not have much more to offer. There are a few interesting buildings, like the post office on the hill, but not many. However, one does not come to the capital for sightseeing, apart from the church and the pirates' cemetery, but to organise some provisions maybe, send a post card, etc. The island is for relaxing.
