The lovely and historic Isle of Man is almost inevitably neglected, except for those addicts of the motor cycle drawn by the TT races. Peel, on the west side of the island, that farthest from Great Britain, and far from the interesting railway lines of the Island, is even more so.
Yet to those who get there Peel is a friendly place of great appeal. Probably it's the small St. Patrick's Island, with a castle remains occupying virtually all of it that makes the most dramatic impact. The city [it has a cathedral] has a history as a fishing port and this makes the Leece Museum in the old Courthouse a place of considerable interest. The House of Mannanan is also worth a visit from those interested in history.
More unexpectedly, the Manx National Transport Museum is also located here.
A few miles south is a roadless stretch of coast with a bird on the map - presumably a reserve. Please edit this if you know about it.
