Hugh, thanks for your comments. I took this without a tripod and I'm so happy with the results - I'm surpised I captures the texture.

Once again on second look this is extraordinary. Hand held, rock steady you can see shaddows of craters in the lower right quadrant. I wish i could take a picture such as this photograph

I was always trying to do a good shot of the moon with my camera,but unfortunately so far not even close to this one.I'm doing something wrong....i know,i desperately need more learning!
