This is where the water from the lagoon drains away every twenty four hours it is replaced, The sea water is pumped in. Bláa lónið is situated approximately 13km from the Keflavík International Airport

Tony, I think it is all controlled, as initially the sea water is pumped in and used with the turbines that produce electricity. Or something like that... But it is definitely manmade.
