Agadir is different from any other city in Morocco. It was rebuilt after the 1961 earthquake and exhibits a completely different city culture and architecture from the rest of the country. Agadir is a good place to start if this is your first trip to a third world country.
The mild temperature all year through means that it is a favourite destination both winter and summer.
Agadir Beach is simply spectacular. It is clean, long, wide and there is a continuous breeze coming in from the Atlantic which makes it a pleasant place all through the day. The only drawbacks are the undercurrents, which can be strong and dangerous.
Agadir fish market has been turned into the surprise tourist attraction. It is next to the shipyard where shipbuilders are only too happy to explain to the tourists how the ships are built. (and expect a tip in return for their story).
Souvenirs shops everywhere. Best buy: stuffed camels in all sizes. Haggle for a fair price. [edit text][editors]
