Travel guide to Tofo

Tofo - near the village

Tofo is a small village near Inhambane in the southern part of the very long coast of Mozambique. It boasts one of the best beaches in the country and a myriad of delightful little places to stay and mingle with other travellers. The beach is vast and it appears to have no end. The little village, or perhaps a very small town, is simple and its centre is tidy and the only hotel is clean but simple and overpriced. The forests and palm groves around the village are great places to wander around and forget about the world. The best places to stay around Tofo are out of the centre, but most of are walking distance away, although some are a fair hike - all are worth it for their bars alone. That is if one decides to stay in the centre, close to the bus stop. [edit text] [editors]
