We have a family cottage in Northwestern Ontario and I visit the region every summer. The closest town is Kenora which is on Lake of The Woods which as 14,000 islands on it. It is a true vacation mecca with the best mother nature can offer. Ontario is a huge province in Canada. I currently live in Ottawa which is in the eastern region of the province. To prove how vast Ontario is, it takes the same time to drive across the province to the cottage as it does to drive to Clearwater Beach in Florida from my house - (24 hours of straight driving to either destination)
The region is considered Sunset Country and offers excellent boating, swimming, hunting, and fishing. On our most recent trip we saw wolves, deer, and black bear!
