Windhoek, means corner of wind and is a really cool city that sits on the edge of the desert.

As you enter the city you notice the flat land gives way to hills; it has the Eros Mountains to the north and the Auas Mountains to the south.

The main road ‘Independence Avenue’ is on a hill and leading off is Fidel Castro Street; at the top of the hill is the Christuskirche – a Lutheran church built in 1910. [edit text]  [editors]
