The main tourist area is Thamel and there are many budget hotels and guesthouses, as well as restaurants, shops and travel agents that can book what ever type of tour your need. Most of the people here are either about to or have just completed a trek, or as they bide their time until the next adrenaline rush. If you haven’t the time or inclination to trek, you could take a flight into the mountains for a perfect glimpse of Everest. [edit text]  [editors]
