Fox Glacier together with Franz Josef Glacier make up the South Island’s Glacier Country. No trip to the South Island is complete without making a stop to the Glacier Country for a treat. It is best to book a guide and go trekking at the glacier. If trekking is not for you, then take a helicopter ride for a visual treat! The next best thing to do is to head to Lake Matheson, which is a five mins drive from the town to take a walk around the lake and be treated to great reflection views of Mt Cook!
