Lake Tekapo (of the South Island of New Zealand) is a photographer’s paradise.
Why?
This is where you will find the brilliant azure of the sky and the turquoise sea compliments each other. Tekapo derives from Maori words ‘Taka’ ie ‘sleeping mat’ and ‘Po’ ie ‘night’. One contributing factor to Lake Tekapo’s beauty is the finely ground rock of the melted glacier waters that gives the lake is distinctly unique colour. The best place to enjoy and marvel the beautiful lake is from the ground of the Church of the Good Shepherd. Regardless of the seasons, the surrounding mountains and the lake provide a spectacular backdrop to the chuch. [edit text][editors]
