Picton is a small coastal village at the head of the Queen Charlotte Sound. It is the closest point to the North Island and there is a daily ferry service which links Picton to Wellington, the capital of New Zealand.
The main attractions are Marlborough Sound, Queen Charlotte Sound and the Cook Straits. Also available are fishing, dolphin watching, and there is an aquarium to see. It is also nice just to walk along the beach or have a picnic in the park. [edit text][editors]
