I have just started this as a new hobby and it has been a lot of fun. It is like treasure hunting with satellite precision...finding little hidden caches in different cities, parks, on mountains, etc. with the aid of a portable GPS device.
There are thousands of these little treasures hidden in every major city (and many in out-of-the-way corners where you would least expect them).
Just curious - has anyone else out there had an experience with this?

Sounds like an interesting sport. Also using GPS, a similar game is running at www.confluence.org where the aim is to find and photograph positions on the globe where whole degrees of latitude and longitude intersect. They have 40000 pictures online!
This sounded rather interesting. Never heard of geocaching before!!! Don't have a portable GPS - wonder is the old map and compass would be sufficient!!
Just to show that i learn new things from this great site.
