I read an article about a global competition where the public can vote for the new 7 marvels. So far more than 20 million people have voted and the list has been narrowed down to 21. The winners will be announced in Lisbon on July 7 2007.

The list now includes such magnificent sights as St Basils Cathedral, Alhambra, Stonehenge, Eiffel Tower, Statue of Liberty, Sydney Opera House, Great Wall, Petra, Angkor Wat, Christ the Redeemer, Machu Picchu, Chitchen Itza, Kiyomizu Temple Japan, Hagia Sophia, Acropolis, Timbuktu, Pyramids of Giza, Easter Island, Colosseum, Neuschwanstein and the Taj Mahal.

How difficult to choose? I for one would vote for numerous like the Alhambra because I have visited them but if you haven't it is so difficult.

The website if you want to vote is http://www.new7wonders.com but I would like to get the discussion going here to see what we all think?

Cheers,

Kerrie

Interesting I never saw the original posting - at least now it has been moved back up the forum. Still an interesting topic.

Cheers,

Kerrie
