The Dominican Jungle is a wonderful place. It can be described as a gift to hikers. With well marked trails through dazzling rain forest, thick with life and green, but with no harmful animals or plants, it is just perfect to explore independently.
But there is also where the jungle ends, and where the volcanic area begins. Large plants die in jagged volcanic landscapes, filled with steam and colour. This leaves them, not desolate as some would describe, but full of color (which can now be revealed with the absence of trees) and energy
This collection of photo's tries to capture some of the wonder of interior Dominica, it's jungle and volcanic landscapes, which are a key factor in making Dominica the country that it is.
