Gilgit is located in north of Pakistan, the most important city along the Karakoram Highway, part of the Silk Road into China.
The town is accessible on road or by air from Islamabad, and area belongs to the Karakoram, part of the Himalayan Range.
International expeditions are starting from here to K2 or Nanga Parbat, trekking tours or mountain bikers to the beautiful Hunza valley.
