Karimabad (Baltit), ancient capital of Hunza, Northern Areas, was one of the projects of Prince Karim Aga Khan, head of the Shia Ismaili Nizari, is beautifully situated high above the Hunza Valley, facing the Rakaposhi. With the renovation of Baltit Fort and old houses with the technology of old times and the introduction of a bazaar with homemade articles it is now a tourist attraction, with all what they need. The people are self-confident and friendly, religion gives them a concept of life, they are able to make a decent living, soft tourism didn’t change their behaviour. [edit text]  [editors]
