upwards to Khyber Pass

Khyber Pass is close to the border crossing to Afghanistan, since centuries a invaders gateway to the subcontinent.
Actually, not much to see, but the idea to be here attracts most of the people coming.
About 50km west of Peshawar, it is not a place just to go... you need to get a permit and a armed guard or a guide arranging everything for you. The Road winds up to the pass through restricted tribal areas, which are closed to foreigners with some exceptional roads. Pakistani law do not apply here.

Foreigners are strongly recommended to travel only during daylight - no overnight stays.
Even lots of people carrying firearms - they are friendly as everywhere in Pakistan. [edit text] [editors]
