Pisac - Inca Ruins
Pisac is a splendid little town in the Sacred Valley of the Incas between Cusco and Urubamba. Its market is wonderfully colourful and textiles can be bought there very cheaply. Just at the entrance to the market there is a huge oven where pastylike confections of vegetables, cheese or ham can be bought very cheaply. They are quite delicious.
Above the town are the ruins of the old Inca base. There is an excellent walk about the higher remainswhich passes through a tunnel in the rocks. At the start of the walk goods are on sale at the 'streetside', including very picturesque chess sets with the pieces representing Spaniards and Incas.
Tasty corn and cheese are also available. [edit text]  [editors]
