Travel guide to Paracas

Paracas is a fairly small place on the coast of Peru, where many tours have their first stop, in order for members to transfer to speedboats to visit the Ballestas Islands. You walk onto your boat with pelicans and other birds beside you in the sea.

On the way to the Balestas, you will pass a huge tryptich known as the 'Candelabra.' The islands are often called the 'Poor Man's Galapagos' but surely nobody visitin here and seeing seals, sea lions, inca terns and boobies can feel very poor. [edit text] [editors]
