Travel guide to Manila

Morong Church, Rizal Phils.

Manila is located on the island of Luzon and is made up of 16 cities to create Metro Manila (National Capital Region). It is a very crowded city and the population range from 12 to 24 million people depending on what cities are included or excluded. The traffic can be quite severe and it takes quite a while to travel around. If you know your route the cheapest way to get around is using a Jeepney.
It is also very hot and whilst the average temperatures is around 28 degrees it can get up to 36-38 degrees in the capital; they have two season and between June to December it is rainy.
It is a must to visit Intramuros, the old walled city, which was founded by the Spanish in 1571. It is home to Manila cathedral, San Agustin Church, Fort Santiago to name as few, but it really gives a sense of old manila.
There are other interesting places outside of the walled city to visit including Rizal Park, Chinatown, Quiapo Church, Manila Bay etc. [edit text] [editors]
