Are we in Rome yet ,what is this a Roman Forum or Emperor’s Palace that greets Us residents and tourist’s a like with its Grandeur construction ? How far do we have to take our imagination to? Do we have to close our eyes ,or we have to leave it open for the appreciation of the past times ? Palace of Fine Arts brings us to the past Glory of San Francisco. Was built in 1915 by architect Bernard Maybeck for the Panama Pacific International Exposition. The site is located in one of the prestigious neighborhoods in San Francisco-The Marina District and surrounded by a lovely park with a wonderful pond .Palace of Fine Arts features magnificent classical Roman Rotunda with curved colonnades. The structure was made to last only one year ,and was scheduled for the demolition ,but with the help of residents we can enjoy the structure at present days . The Palace was built with wood covered in with a mixture of plaster and fiber. In 1964 the Palace was demolished and reconstruction of replica began. The Rotunda was completed in 1967 and in 1975 replica of original colonnades was added. The pond provides home to a number of beautiful swans and other birds in the city.
