The North Beach heighborhood was named after a now long vanished beach that ones extended from Telegrapg Hill to Russian Hill.It was built on the landfill.It is a diverse neighborhood with a mix of cultures.A substantional influx of Italians during the 1880s gave North Beach a secondary name:"Little Italy"Asains are now the dominant ethnic group in the neighborhood.
