William Randolph Hearst was a visionary man; he had a dream: it was to gather in the same place all the architectural memories of a trip he had made in Europe with his mother in 1873 as he was 10. He had been so amazed at seeing all these spendours from the Middle Ages, the Renaissance and the Classical period in such countries as Scotland, England, France, Italy and Spain that he just decided to have them all within his reach. Today this castle is a California State historical monument that attracts visitors from over the world. Everything is beautiful in Hearst Castle, the Castle itself and all its marvels and the setting up a hill that towers all the countryside around and provides dramatic views to the ocean and the montains behind.
