This slide show is an introduction to French Polynesia through its capital city which underwent vast remodeling works in the past five years.
Papeete is not very big as it only has some 27000 inhabitants today, but this is one of the first places visited in French Polynesia because it is close to the only international airport of this French Overseas Territory. The airport is named Tahiti-Faa'a International and is just about 3 miles away.
